Greenhand Leadership Camp

San Benito County Fair
Soledad FFA was able to go to San Benito County Fair for the first time and were able to gain some high achievements for their livestock animals. Among the members who placed were Roxanne Camacho who placed as a Reserve Weight Champion(2nd place), Naizah Hernandez, who earned the Reserve Champion placing in market and 4th in showmanship, We congratulate each and everybody for their success and huge thank you to our buyers for investing their time and money on our chapter and our members.

Chapter Officer Leadership Conference (COLC)
On October 15th Soledad FFA had the opportunity to attend COLC (Chapter Officer Leadership Conference). They attended workshops for team building and leadership skills, competed in the lip-sync/dance competition, bonded with other officers & made new friends around the region, and learned what it means to be a chapter officer! Special thank you to the State Leaders for helping make the conference a success and for teaching us that we must find our missing piece so that we may work together successfully.
Greenhand Leadership Conference
Our Greenhands had a rockin' time at the Greenhand Leadership Conference (GLC) on October 12, 2016.
We hope they were inspired to stay involved in FFA and that they had an awesome time at this event!
National Convention
National Convention started October 17th and ended on October 25th. A member who attended this event, Matthew Zamudio, described it as being "phenomenal". There, they meet new people and listened to their stories. They also visited a number of monuments and museums, including the Holocaust Museum, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, the Washington monument, and the US Capitol. Together those four members that attended bonded stronger than ever and definitely suggest this trip to other members.

Congratulations to the First-Ever Greenhand officers-elect and we hope that with this new position in the chapter, you can and will do great things! One day you will look back on this moment as the first major milestone that you hit to becoming the great leaders of tomorrow and we also hope that you enjoy it while it lasts because one day you might just be making your retiring address to many people.

Winter celebration FFA parade float
Thank you to all members who joined us on the float and helped decorate it! We all had a good time waving to the citizens of Soledad and having fun with each other! Happy Holidays to all from the Soledad FFA chapter!!

Conferences
From January 20th to the 21st, Soledad FFA had several members attend the Made For Excellence and Advanced Leadership Conference in Monterey, California. They learned new leadership skills and made friends with members from many chapter across the state of California.

King City
Field Day
On February 2, 5 FFA Members attended King City Field Day at the King City Fairgrounds. All over the Monterey Bay Section, elementary students were invited to attend this incredible opportunity. The Soledad FFA members enlightened elementary kids about raising and showing market goats.
